Did you know?
Bent Theatre Comedy is a 100% nomadic company?
You've probably seen our events scheduled all over the place: breweries, coffee shops, galleries, theaters, and more. That's because, since our start in 2004, we have never had a performance space of our own. Until 2006, we had a studio where we taught classes and held rehearsals. Over the years, we've partnered with companies like Play On Theatre and Gorilla Theatre (both since closed) for regular space and programming. But we have truly embraced our "garage band" lifestyle. We rehearse in basements, parks, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, or wherever 20-ish performers can get silly. We teach classes wherever we can find rental space. And we perform anywhere that wants a live comedy show with low overhead, minimal setup, and an engaged audience.
We're grateful for our community partners and always glad to bring business to their venues. So far this year, we've performed at 11 different venues, with our 12th coming this month when we return to the Carysbrook Performing Arts Center to work with Empowered Players. And 2026 isn't over yet, so there may be a few more new stops on the map before it is.
We don't just love performing at these venues. We love the work they do, and we can't encourage you enough to support them. So a big thank you to our friends and 2026 performance venues (so far):
Where have you seen Bent Theatre perform this year? Where would you like to see us go next?
